[ooc: Backdated to Saturday morning 4/8/06 for
queennomore]Edward had gotten to the stable early. He'd called the owner to secure the use of Noir Silence for the next day and spent an hour working on both his own horse's coat and Noir, grooming them up till both horses shone in the morning sunlight.
His own gelding,
Champagne Slew was an absolute bugger about rolling at night and Edward had to chuckle even as he grumbled softly at the ex racehorse. The gray pretended to be fractious but had learned his new owner was fine source of peppermints and the two were gradually building a fairly decent raport.
"Now, Pagne...I have a very beautiful woman coming out with us today so try not to make me look an absolute fool shall you?"
Edward rubbed the gray's nose and finished brushing him up then went to the tackroom. He tacked both Noir and Pagne up, English as he suspected Susan rode a very solid hunt seat, at least he hoped she did since the small stable didn't carry Western tack. Leaving the girths loose, he gave both horses friendly pats and headed out to the neatly kept courtyard at the front of the twelve stall barn. It was only about ten minutes until ten, so he sat down on the tall mounting block, one paddock boot clad heel hooked against the front of the block, arms around his knee as he enjoyed the sunlight as it peeked out between the rain clouds.
Just enough of a light misting to make it all feel like home. Now all he needed was the beautiful lady to complete the picture.
